Difficulty in reading crushes a child’s natural excitement and love for learning. This is true for students with dyslexia or other learning challenges, as well as students who simply do not do well with traditional instruction.
The Flippen Reading Connection completely changes the outlook for kids who struggle with reading, spelling, and writing. | Approach: The Flippen Reading Connection is designed for 45 minute-class (or longer) formats each day. It places emphasis on developing conceptual (bi-hemispheric) skills, rather than sequencing (left hemispheric) skills. Conceptual skill means perceiving the whole (letter, word, phrase, and sentence) and parts in a single act of perception.
Who: The Flippen Reading Connection can be utilized by anyone who teaches reading — at any grade level — to students of normal intelligence. Teachers must have attend Capturing Kids’ Hearts as a prerequisite. Certification qualifies a teacher to teach the course, for as long as he or she remains at the same campus.
When: This is an intensive five-day, small-group learning experience. Open enrollment sessions are available throughout the year. We can also schedule client-booked sessions with up to 10 individuals at a time.
Where: Open enrollment sessions take place at locations we have found to be conducive to learning. Client-booked sessions can be scheduled at a convenient location.
